Challenge
When I joined Muck Rack as their first product designer, PR professionals were drowning in fragmented workflows.Teams juggled separate tools for contacts, pitching, tracking, and analytics - losing 15+ hours per week to tool-switching.
The core problem:
64% couldn't quantify their results, and 71% said measuring business impact was their biggest challenge.
My role:
Establish the design function from scratch while scaling a B2B platform from $21M to $50M revenue across PR agencies, enterprises, and communications teams globally.
“Amazing job launching dashboards into beta with 100 customers! This sets the foundation for how we show the impact of PR efforts.”
— Greg Galant, CEO and Co-founder

What I Learned
Platform Design at Scale:
Building for a rapidly growing B2B platform taught me how to balance user needs with technical constraints while maintaining design quality. I learned to design systems that could evolve with business requirements without losing coherence.
Data Visualization for Decision-Making:
The challenge wasn't just displaying data beautifully, but helping users understand what actions to take. I developed expertise in contextual data presentation that guides user behavior rather than overwhelming them.
Cross-Functional Leadership:
As the sole designer in a fast-growing startup, I learned to influence product direction through design thinking while building collaborative relationships with engineering, sales, and customer success teams.
